Road Crossing Simulator for Visually Impaired

Description

This is part of my work at GAMMA group at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The goal of this application is to train visually impaired users to cross the road. Geometric based Sound Propagation is used inside the simulator that accounts for early reflections, late reverberations and sound scattering. Tasks such as generation of cars and other ambient sounds are still in progress.

Work in Progress

1. Design of the application is being updated where few cars will wait at the red lights.

2. Parametric sound synthesis is being used to generate better quality sounds for all the vehicles in the scene.
