I'm currently a Ph.D. student in Computer Science at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, working with Prof. Kevin Jeffay. I obtained my B.S. degree in Computer Science from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China in 2012. My research interests lie in computer systems, networking, and cloud computing.

Research

Measurement on Latency-based Active Queue Management: AQM has not been widely deployed because of performance issues and implementation difficulties. We construct a Linux-based Gigabits laboratory network, reproduce realistic Internet traffic collected between UNC and ISPs, and comprehensively measure the effects of newly proposed AQM disciplines on network performance and end-system applications behavior.

Performance of Packet-Scale Congestion Control: The new packet-scale congestion control paradigm for ultra-high speed networks needs extensive performance evaluation. We study the RAPID protocol, and evaluate its stability, compatibility, fairness with other dominant TCP protocols, and sensitivity on probing streams with multiple cross traffic bursts.

Incentive-Compatible Mechanisms for Network Resource Management: Selfish behavior in user-contributed wireless networks will degrade the system performance. We apply solution concepts from game theory and mechanism design into the study of incentive problems of resource management in wireless networks, and propose novel auction mechanisms for wireless channel redistribution and incentive schemes for packet forwarding and information sharing.
