How to use Tcl/Tk gui's in c/c++ programs

 Extra notes about tcl/tk, specTcl, and the files below

C++ sources with copious comments:

•  simple display of gui
•  more complex gui interaction with linked variables and callbacks

SpecTcl .ui files and the resulting Tcl/tk .tcl files automatically generated by SpecTcl v1.1:

• basic user-interface (.ui)
• basic user-interface (.tcl)
• more complex user-interface (.ui)
• more complex user-interface (.tcl)
• extra user-interface for pop-up in complex ui (.ui)
• extra user-interface for pop-up in complex ui (.tcl)

If you have installed tcl/tk on your system and set up your browser to use wish as a plugin for .tcl files, then you can see the ui's in action by just clicking on the tcl links above.

If you want to set up wish as a helper application in netscape, just go under preferences and set up a new helper/application with the following info:

• Description: tcl/tk script
• Mime Type: application/x-tcl
• Extension: tcl

and down where it says "pick an application", say:

• Application: /usr/local/contrib/mod/bin/wish %s

(with the appropriate path to your wish executable).

Binary distributions of tcl/tk for win 95/nt are available from http://sunscript.sun.com/, as are unix source distributions (tcl/tk v8.0 is installed here at unc for the sgi, hp, and linux platforms).
