Eligible Times
Ei(t) = the amount of service that connection i should receive by time t (? to), in order that no deadline be violated by any connection anytime after time t
Computing the eligibility curve is very difficult (unlike the deadline curve)

- depends upon the service curves of all other connections -- active and inactive
- must be able to identify their worst-case combination of behaviour at future times
Certain approximations can be derived --- these underestimate the eligible time (i.e., connections are awakened earlier than necessary).
