Jennifer Staab's Research

Research

As a graduate student I had worked as an RA for Dr. Shawn Gomez in Biomedical Engineering department at UNC. One of my research projects in the Gomez Lab was focused within the field of Metabolomics in collaboration with Dr. Thomas O'Connell. I implemented a method of peak picking and alignment of Nuclear Magnetic Resonance spectroscopy data to improve the quality of Metabolomic analysis. Look here for our publication on this tool, PCANS. In addition to my work developing analysis tools for NMR spectra, I was involved with the development of data mining and integration tools for exploring the toxicological link between ToxCastTM bioassays and chemicals to diseases and other maladies. Finally functioning primarily as a statistician, I was involved with various microarray expression analyses to explore temporal differences and/or activated biological pathways.
